朝露を分けそほちつつ花見むと
今ぞ野山をみなへしりぬる

Roma-ji: Asatsuyu o wake sobochitsutsu hana mimu to ima zo noyama o mina e shirinuru
English Translation: Parting morning dew,
soaked through again and again,
to see the flowers
now at last the hills and fields
I have roamed and come to know.
Meaning: Pushing through the morning dew and soaked through, eager to see the flowers, I have now at last wandered over every hill and field and come to know them all.

Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Maiden flower"
This poem says that, pushing through morning dew and getting soaked in order to see the flowers, the speaker has now roamed and come to know every hill and field. The title "ominaeshi" is hidden across the fourth and fifth lines. Whereas the preceding poem hid the title in the small scene of a spider's web, this one uses the broad scene of a person roaming the hills and fields, treating the maiden flower on a different scale.
The poet, "Tomonori," is Ki no Tomonori. A cousin of Ki no Tsurayuki, he was one of the compilers of the Kokinshu but died before it was completed. He is one of the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets.

First line "Asatsuyu o" means "the morning dew," indicating the hour of setting out into the fields.
Second line "wake sobochitsutsu" means "parting the dew and getting soaked," with "tsutsu" marking continuing action. It uses the same word "sobochitsutsu" as the first poem of the book, 422.
Third line "hana mimu to" means "intending to see the flowers," giving the purpose of the walk.
Fourth line "ima zo noyama o" uses the emphatic "zo," which reaches to the ending of the fifth line. The title begins with the "o" of "noyama o."
Fifth line "mina e shirinuru" means "have passed through all and come to know them." It closes in the attributive "nuru" in answer to "zo," and with the fourth line hides the title "ominaeshi."
