君により我が名は花に春霞
野にも山にも立ち満ちにけり

Roma-ji: Kimi ni yori waga na wa hana ni harugasumi no ni mo yama ni mo tachimichinikeri
English Translation: Because of you
my name, in bloom like flowers,
like the haze of spring,
over fields and over hills
has risen and spread everywhere
Meaning: Because of you, my name has blossomed into rumor and, like the haze of spring, has risen to fill the fields and the hills.

Because of their love, the poet's reputation has spread as showily as spring haze filling the fields and hills. Using the lovely scene of spring haze, it exaggerates how rumor has spread everywhere, and even in lament it has a certain brightness.
The author is recorded as anonymous, and the name has not come down to us.

The first line, "kimi ni yori," means "because of you," giving the cause.
The second line, "waga na wa hana ni," means "my name, showily," likening a flamboyantly spreading rumor to flowers.
The third line, "harugasumi," is the haze that fills the spring landscape, leading into "rise"; flowers and haze together build a spring scene.
