Book Ten Autumn Love Poems 2257
Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Love Expressed Through Dew"
This poem resolves to go to the beloved right now, though the sleeves are wet with dew and frost and the night grows late. As if answering 2252, where the one waiting asked him to come though wet with dew and late at night, this poem is the resolve of the one going to go though soaked by dew and frost, and the two share the same last line as a pair.
The first line, "in the dew and frost," names what wets him.
The second line, "my sleeves wet," describes his state.
The third line, "ima dani mo," means right now.
In the fourth line, "imogari yukana," "gari" means to the place of and "na" is a particle of intention: let me go to my beloved. The poem breaks here.
The last line, "even if the night grows late," is the same ending as 2252.
