having met with you, my love,
clouding all the sky

I feel that I'd melt away.

Book Ten Winter Love Poems 2342
Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Love Expressed Through Snow"
This poem says that after meeting the beloved as fleetingly as in a dream, the speaker feels about to vanish, like snow falling from a clouded sky. It shares its lower lines with 2340, changing the upper lines to "ime no goto kimi o aimite." It is the last of three variant poems ending "kenubeku omōyu," singing of feelings after a fleeting meeting.
The first line, "like a dream," names the comparison.
The second line, "having met you," names the meeting.
The third line, "clouding the sky," is the same as the third line of 2340.
The fourth line, "like the falling snow," names the comparison.
The last line, "kenubeku omōyu," is the same ending as 2340.
