Ominaeshi ware ni yado kase inamino no ina to iu tomo koko o sugime ya

English Translation
O maidenflower,
lend me lodging for the night;
on Inami's moor,
though you tell me "no" outright,
could I pass this place by?
Meaning
Maidenflower, lend me lodging. Even if you say "no," as the name of Inami Moor suggests, how could I pass by this place?
Commentary

Headnote: "On lodging at Inamino while traveling in autumn"
The poet calls on the maidenflowers blooming on Inami Moor to lend him lodging, and says that even if they refuse with a "no," he will not pass by. Likening the maidenflower to a woman and turning the "inami," refusal, of the place name into words of rejection, he expresses in jest his deep fondness for the flowers of the autumn moor. According to the headnote, it was composed when he lodged at Inamino while traveling in autumn.
The author, written as Yoshinobu, is Ōnakatomi no Yoshinobu. From the Ōnakatomi family, who served as chief priests of the Ise Shrine, he took part in compiling the Gosenshū and in reading the Man'yōshū as one of the Five Men of the Pear Chamber, and he is counted among the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets.

First line, "ominaeshi," is the maidenflower, one of the seven flowers of autumn, often likened to a woman because of its name.
Second line, "ware ni yado kase," means "lend me lodging," with "kase" an imperative. The poem pauses here.
Third line, "inamino no," plays on Inamino, a famed place in Harima, and "inami," refusal, leading through the repeated sound to "ina" in the fourth line as a preface.
Fourth line, "ina to iu tomo," means "even if you say no," with "tomo" expressing a concessive supposition.
Final line, "koko o sugime ya," means "would I pass by here," with "me" the perfective form of the conjectural auxiliary "mu" and "ya" expressing a rhetorical question.
