that makes it move me so

Book Nine Miscellaneous Poems I 300
The moon seen from his own dwelling moves him so deeply that the poet wants to view the moon elsewhere to learn whether it is the dwelling's charm that makes it so. Linking the moon's beauty to the atmosphere of his home and wishing to test the reason, it is a playful poem.
The first line, "kokoromi ni" (as a test), means trying it out.
The second line, "hoka no tsuki o mo," uses "mo": the moon seen elsewhere as well.
The third line, "miteshi kana," ends with the wishful "teshi kana": I would like to see it, with a break after the third line. Poem 277 of this book also breaks after the third line with "miteshi kana."
The fourth line, "waga yadokara no," uses "kara" for the nature or character of a thing: because of my dwelling's charm.
The final line, "aware naru ka to," uses "ka" and "to" to give by inversion what he wants to learn: whether it is so moving.
