Miscellaneous Poems 675
Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Among poems for the year of the Great Thanksgiving Festival"
The new hall of unbarked logs will never grow old, and the lord will visit it for ten thousand ages; like the preceding poem, it blesses the Great Thanksgiving. Kamo no Mabuchi marked it with a sign of praise.
The Ruijū text places it among the "poems found in other and printed texts" and writes moro in line 2 as muro.
Line 1 means "now being built," the same opening as 632 of this book.
Line 2 means "the hall of unbarked logs," taking up the opening of the preceding poem.
Line 3 means "never aging," taking up the last line of the preceding poem.
Line 4 means "my lord shall come."
Line 5 means "for ten thousand ages," in inversion, answering line 4 of the preceding poem.
