Headnote: "Sent to friends when, relying on connections, he was staying in a province and had not gone up to the capital for a long time."
The poet says that since the road to the capital he once saw each morning has been cut off, no one calls on him even by mistake. Long gone to the provinces, he tells his friends of his loneliness now that even word from the capital has ceased.
According to the headnote, he had gone to a province through some connection and had long not returned to the capital, and sent this to his friends.
