Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Topic unknown"
Though I get wet, I am glad of this leaking hut because I think of the moonlight that will come in through the gaps in the roof once the sky clears, the poet says, turning the hardship of a poor dwelling into joy through his love of the moon. It takes up the clouded moon of the three poems before.
First line, “nururedomo”: though I get wet.
Second line, “ame moru yado no”: of the dwelling where rain leaks in.
Third line, “ureshiki wa”: what makes me glad.
Fourth line, “irikon tsuki o”: the moonlight that will come in.
Fifth line, “omou narikeri”: narikeri marks realization; it is the thought of it.
