my hunting robe is soaked,

Miscellaneous Poems 571
Headnote: "Evening dew on a journey"
On the road through unfamiliar meadows, the poet's robe is soaked with dew, and it is an autumn evening, deepening his sorrow. Dew, travel and autumn dusk, all summoners of sadness, are laid one upon another.
The Ruijū text places it in its travel section.
Line 1 means "since the dew is thick," mi expressing cause.
Line 2 means "of the unfamiliar meadow."
Line 3 means "hunting robe," travelling dress.
Line 4 means "and the time is sad as well," shimo intensive.
Line 5 ends on a noun, naming the hour when sorrow is deepest; it shares this last line with the next poem, 572.
