Headnote: "Snow on a journey"
Sleeping alone on one sleeve of his travelling robe, the poet feels the night grow bitterly cold and realizes snow has fallen on his hut in the moor. Moving from the cold felt in the body to the discovery of snow, it depicts the harshness of sleeping on the road. Kamo no Mabuchi marked this poem with a sign of praise.
The Ruijū text places it in its travel section.
