Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Shiratsuyu no ada ni mo oku ka kuzu no ha ni tamareba kienu kaze taenu ma ni
How fleetingly the white dew lies! On the arrowroot leaves it vanishes as soon as it gathers, before the wind has even paused.
Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Akikaze wa ayana na fukiso shiratsuyu no ada naru nobe no kuzu no ha no ue ni
Autumn wind, do not blow so heedlessly over the arrowroot leaves in the fields, where the white dew lies so frail.
Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Kaze o matsu kusa no ha ni oku tsuyu yori mo ada naru mono wa asagao no hana
Frailer even than the dew on blades of grass, waiting only for the wind to scatter it, is the morning glory flower.
Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Uzura naku furinishi sato no asajiu ni ikuyo no aki no tsuyu ka okikemu
