Love Poems 485
Headnote continued from the preceding poem: "Composed on the theme of love at famous places"
As the towrope that pulls the boats at the Kako crossing never stops swaying, the poet's loving heart wavers without rest. It takes up tayutau from the preceding poem.
Line 1 means "this love of mine."
Line 2 means "of the crossing at Kako" in Harima.
Line 3 names the towrope pulling boats from the bank, whose swaying leads to tayutau.
Line 4 means "a wavering heart," the same word as line 4 of the preceding poem.
Line 5 means "there is no time it ceases."
