Waga kado no asaji irozuku yonabari no namishiba no no no momichi chirurashi
The short grass by my gate is turning color—on the fields of Namishiba at Yonabari, the autumn leaves must be scattering.
Kari ga ne o kikitsuru nae ni takamatsu no no no ue no kusa zo irozukinikeru
Just as I heard the cry of the wild geese, the grass on the fields of Takamatsu took on its autumn color.
Waga seko ga shirotaegoromo yukifureba nioinubeku mo momitsu yama ka mo
So deeply colored is this mountain that my husband's white robe would surely be dyed if he went and brushed against it.
