Okitsunami yasoshima kakete sumu chidori kokoro hitotsu to ikaga tanomamu
Like the plover that lives ranging over the eighty isles amid the offshore waves, how can I trust that your heart is single?
Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Uwa no sora ni mishi omokage o omoiidete tsuki ni narenishi aki zo koishiki
Recalling the face I saw in the sky above, I long for that autumn when we grew so close to the moon together.

Kinkaishu - Minamoto no Sanetomo
Yuisomete nareshi tabusa no komurasaki omowazu ima mo asakariki to wa
Like the deep purple cord that bound my topknot when it was first tied and has grown so familiar, I do not think, even now, that our bond was ever shallow.
